Karine Laudort The annual Pirelli calendar, known for its exclusivity and star-studded lineup, has chosen international visual artist Prince Gyasi to photograph and conceptualise the 2024 edition, marking the Calendar’s 50th anniversary. Gyasi, an immensely talented photographer from Ghana, brought his unique visual perspective to his work, re-centring Black subjects and embracing vibrant colours. Gyasi is also the co-founder of Boxedkids, a non-profit organisation helping kids from Accra get an education.
The 2024 Pirelli Calendar features renowned figures like Naomi Campbell, Teyana Taylor, Angela Bassett, and Amanda Gorman, to name a few. Gyasi’s distinct visual voice showcases his otherworldly imagination and his love for photography, which was nurtured by the support of the adults in his life during his early childhood.
Thursday, 30th of November, saw over 600 people attend the Launch Gala for the 2024 Pirelli Calendar at the Magazine London. On arrival, attendees, including Prince Gyasi, walked the red carpet before entering the venue.
During the evening, VIPs featured in the 2024 calendar gathered together alongside other notable faces, journalists and influencers to celebrate the launch of the 2024 Pirelli Calendar.
Once inside, guests enjoyed a drinks and canape reception with live beats from DJs Juls Baby and Tiffany Calver.
British writer and journalist Ekow Eshun took to the stage to showcase some of the images being released from the 2024 calendar, alongside interviews with Prince Gyasi and other key talent involved in the calendar. Following interviews, guests partied the night away, all with direct views of the Thames.
