8 Things to do on Easter Bank Holiday weekend 2022

With Easter fast approaching, the season of chocolate, bunnies and the forbidden hayfever (better stock up on the eye drops), I have found a range of activities and events to take part in this bank holiday by yourself, with friends or the family. From Easter egg hunts to bottomless cocktail parties, there are many events going on this weekend so why not head out and have some fun!

1. Horniman Spring Fair

For an all-around fun experience, I would recommend visiting the Horniman Spring Fair which includes friendly priced tickets of £5 per person for adults and children can go free! The Spring Fair will host a fun day with comedian Jamie Allerton alongside live band music from the New Orleans Jazz Band, The Alvar Tree Frogs. They will be hosting a range of workshops, an arts and crafts market and a range of community stalls- There is one place you should be this bank holiday and that is the Horniman’s Spring Fair!

2. Passion of Christ in Trafalgar Square

An annual tradition in Trafalgar Square is the Passion of Christ play, which takes place on Good Friday. For people that do not like to be in crowded places like myself, there are two live streams, one at noon and another at 3.15 pm. Parental supervision is advised so this play is not suitable for children of all ages. Therefore, it is a good place to go with a partner, some friends or even by yourself as the event is free.

3. Barrio Bank Holiday Sesh

The Barrio Cocktail Bar in Shoreditch is holding a Latin bottomless cocktail bank holiday session where you can get bottomless bloody marys, prosecco, mimosas, and Sol. For food, they are offering their delish meaty burgers and churros (yum!) The prices for the bottomless cocktails range from £30-£40 depending on how many hours you want bottomless! This is taking place on Bank Holiday Monday (April 18th 2022) so if you are looking to get out with a couple of friends, Barrio is where you should be!

4. ZSL London Zoo

If you are looking to go somewhere with kids, London Zoo is holding an interactive activity for all to participate in. Based on the “Dear Zoo” book, you can take part in lively storytime sessions about the favourite children’s book, adventure on interactive activity trails and learn about all the amazing animals. This activity is great for all the family!

They are holding these sessions from the 2nd of April to the 18th of April, so be quick and book before it is too late!

5. 10k Marathon Run

Looking to kick start your fitness plan in time for summer? Why not take part in the Easter fun run at Regents Park! A marathon is an excellent way to support good causes and stay fit. London’s marathon is three laps around Regents Park or the option of a 2-mile fun run. There is also a children’s race with a minimum age requirement of 15 years so that the younger ones can get involved! For those who would like a record of their achievement, everyone receives a medal at the end to commemorate the event!

6. Cutty Sark Easter Egg Hunt

Located on the British Clipper in Greenwich, Cutty Sark is hosting an Easter event for all to get involved in! Go on a mystery Easter egg hunt around the ship and explore the Captain’s cabin on the main deck, search from the Lower hold to the cargo area and see how many you can find! Also, if you visit the Cutty Sark Café at the end of your quest (we would highly recommend it), you are given a surprise reward!

7. Bashment Splash Bank Holiday Party

In the heart of Clapham, LIT Nightclub is hosting a bashment party this Bank Holiday weekend. The event takes place on the 16th-17th of April and ticket prices start from £6. The event is 18+ and there are some of the sickest DJ’s attending to provide you with the best bashment tunes all night!

8. Easter Eggstravaganza at East Midland Safari Park

For those who live outside of the London area that are looking for a fun activity to take part in, there is an easter egg hunt being hosted at East Midland Safari Park! You can get the chance to interact with the friendly animals of the park and also get an educational tour of the different animals living at the zoo! Not only that but they are hosting an awesome competition and a trail so you can have all the easter fun you want with the family!

This April is looking very promising with the wide range of events and activities to take part in. Not to mention, the heatwave soon approaches, making it a perfect time to go outdoors and have fun.
