Christmas cocktails to make the holiday season even better!

Yuletide is full speed ahead. Everyone is filling their trolleys with amazing delicacies, cuisine and beverages, ready for the big day. Many of us like to let loose on Christmas day and indulge in the best foods and drinks but it is guaranteed to be quite hard to find the perfect cocktails to sip throughout the day. With loads of different cocktails ( that can also be mocktails!), we are certain you’ll find a flawless fusion.

1. Bucks Fizz

Recipe:

  • 2 parts Orange Juice
  • 1 part Champagne (or vice versa!)

Bucks Fizz, also known as a Mimosa, is a common drink known to be paired with a hearty brunch. A concoction with only 2 main ingredients that play the part; Orange Juice and Champagne. Depending on how strong you want the cocktail will be, you can create this drink with 2 parts orange juice and 1 part champagne. This is a mimosa as it has a lighter alcohol intake, whereas Bucks Fizz reverses the proportions and you have 2 parts champagne and 1 part orange juice. So depending on how you want the day to turn out, you can decide on the ratios. Did you know that Bucks Fizz was invented so that people had an excuse to drink earlier?

2. Fentimans Pink Pear Mule

Fentimans Pink Pear Mule Cocktail. Visit Christmas Cocktails | Fentimans for details.

This cocktail which has a magical twist by Fentimans is the ultimate must-have. This is their take on the classic ‘Moscow Mule’ cocktail and it is absolutely delicious! The pear vodka gives that sweet and tangy twist paired with Amaretto, which has the nutty flavour, is the perfect combination, with each sip giving you a burst of different tastes. At that moment, top it up with lime juice and Fentimans Pink ginger that gives this cocktail an ultimately fresh tang that cannot be replicated. Garnish with fresh lime and a cinnamon stick for extra warmth, the ‘Pink Pear Mule’ cocktail is perfect for winter nights.

3. Mistletoe Martini

Recipe:

  • 30ml Vodka
  • 20ml Elderflower Liquer
  • 30ml Cranberry Juice
  • 20ml Simple Syrup
  • Garnish with mint and Fresh Cranberries

What better way to get in the festive spirit than this spirit and cranberry cocktail! This cocktail uniquely blends elderflower and cranberry flavours for a refreshing finish, which makes this very easy to guzzle. The elderflower and cranberry fuse nicely with the elderflower notes being uniquely fresh with subtle tropical nuances of lychee and pear flavours. The garnish of the fresh cranberries and mint give so much to this cocktail; With the berries giving that extra crunch that you can enjoy whilst you drink.

4. Classic Egg Nog

Recipe:

  • 30ml Amaretto
  • 30ml vodka
  • 60ml  store bought eggnog
  • Pinch of nutmeg and cinnamon

Did you know that the Eggnog has been around since the 1700s? And since then, it has become one of the most popular festive drinks. Despite egg being in the name, the taste has no resemblance to egg and it has more of a sweet, creamy flavour. With pungent elements of cinnamon and nutmeg, it gives extra warmth and spice that ultimately make up the whole flavouring. Rich in taste and frothy in texture, this cocktail is extremely rich and is a perfect drink to have by the fire. It is also amazing as a latte!

5. Bailey’s Candy Cane

Recipe:

  • 45ml Bailey’s Irish Cream
  • 45ml Creme de Cacao
  • 40ml Peppermint Schnapps
  • Garnish with crushed candy canes (or peppermint sweets)

Last of all, this festive refreshment is the perfect drink for everyone (over 18 of course!) In fact, you may not be a huge festive fan but this beverage is a fun one to try! With Bailey’s sweet and milky taste that has notes of chocolate and vanilla and the peppermint schnapps giving a warm pungent taste, this is the perfect drink to pair with festive hors d’oeuvres like pigs in blankets.

We hope you all enjoy these Christmas cocktails as much as we do. Not only are they flavoursome but they all have that festive spirit that is needed this time of year!
