The British Society of Magazine Editors truly pulled out all the stops this year, hosting their much-awaited 2025 Summer Party on July 16th at the stunning rooftop terrace of Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay. Part of the iconic 22 Bishopsgate complex, the party took place on the iconic tower’s 61st floor.
Venue & Atmosphere
Perched at the top of the city, Lucky Cat offers a unique blend of Asian-inspired design and panoramic urban views—complete with art-deco details, lush turquoise-blue accents, and playful cat motifs—inspired by 1930s Tokyo Kissas.
The terrace, branded with the BSME logo on the windows and bathed in golden-hour light, provided the perfect setting for mingling, networking, and al fresco toasts.
Guests & Vibes
This year’s Summer Party buzzed with energy as editors and magazine professionals filled the terrace. Andrea Thompson, Marie-Claire UK’s Editor-in-Chief and this year’s BSME chair, hosted the event.
I must, of course, thank once again, ‘We are Black Journos‘ Founder, Hannah Ajálà-Rahman, for inviting me. The crowd swaying to summer cocktails and heartfelt conversation exemplified the BSME’s vibrant parties.
Food, Drinks & Networking
Guests enjoyed Lucky Cat’s sushis, scrumptious pan-Asian canapés, and delicious cocktails. All set against the backdrop of sunset views over London rooftops, the layout encouraged casual conversations-magazine editors and creatives swapped ideas beneath the city skyline.
Overall, the 2025 BSME Summer Party at Lucky Cat was a feast for the eyes, the taste buds, and the mind. With impeccable venue choice, thoughtful event planning, and a relaxed but inspiring atmosphere, it was a highlight in London’s summer calendar for magazine professionals.
