Earth Day is held every April 22nd of each year where we come together to raise awareness for environmental protection. The day was first arranged by Senator Gaylord Nelson in 1970, after noticing the oil spill that occurred in Santa Barbara in 1969. Since then, Earth Day has been celebrated by millions of people around the globe, in hopes to improve pollution and deforestation.
Also, a lot of big companies and brands have also stepped up their game, to reduce carbon emissions and single-use plastics in their products, in hopes to better the surrounding environment. In fact, over the last few years, I have certainly seen a rise in sustainable and eco-friendly products that are available on the market; It’s great and the space is definitely moving in the right direction!
Nevertheless, I have found some eco-friendly products I think I should share with you because not only are you going to love them but the planet we live on will love them as well!

Modibodi
One of the biggest contributors to landfills is the sanitary product industry, with most pads and tampons containing plastic. The pioneer striving in this space is Modibodi, the brand that is pushing us away from single-use plastics and opening the doors to reusable, sustainable periodwear!
All of their periodwear is leakproof, reusable, biodegradable and most importantly, comfortable. Ditch the uncomfortable, itchy pads that give you rashes and are full of nasty chemicals and instead, go for something more ecological and secure that you can easily wash and re-use!
Modibodi’s mission is to have a positive impact on the people and the planet. They are striving to become a carbon negative business by end of 2023; Join them on their journey to becoming carbon negative and reduce your carbon footprint sooner rather than later!
FanFare
Finding sustainable clothing can be hard when we all live in a world of fast fashion. However, the fashion brand, FanFare is consciously creating gorgeous clothing that is 100% sustainable so that we can start to take care of the planet we live on!
Many of their pieces are made by upcycling and re-designing them into fresh, stunning new pieces that can either be worn as a statement or just to spice up your everyday look. Fanfare’s aim is to change the way people purchase clothing by upcycling and transforming ‘waste’ into wear!
Their clothing is beautifully unique- Changing each vintage piece into upcycled contemporary designs to reduce landfills, carbon footprint and most notably, inspire fashion consumers to repurpose their old clothing!

Ditch the plastic snacks and hop on to these appetizing popped crisps that are a sustainable alternative!
Amaku
Another excellent product is from Amaku. Amaku’s Tooth tablets are an eco-friendly alternative to standard toothpaste which is full of fluoride and is packaged with plastic laminate. Amaku’s tooth tablets replace fluoride with a similar ingredient nano-hydroxyapatite, which is a naturally occurring mineral that has amazing remineralising effects on enamel restoring and preventing tooth erosion.
Tooth tablets are super easy to use; You just bite the tablet and then, you can start to brush! Instead of typical toothpaste foaming agents like SLS, Amaku uses a mild coconut-based natural foaming agent that provides a much gentler cleaning experience.
Tooth tablets are not only a great product but they are the future. Over 300 million toothpaste tubes go to UK landfills each year; I believe we should strive to change this and instead use an eco-effective alternative, like these!
Did you know over two third’s of the UK’s plastic packaging is still taken to landfill despite active recycling schemes? That means just under a half of recyclable goods actually get recycled! Whether you are looking to reduce your carbon footprint or are just on the hunt for some eco-friendly goodies, I am sure you’ll find what you are looking for after this roundup!
