COP26 Event: Style Your Stripes

Leading sustainable couture fashion label, Tammam and top climate scientist, Professor Ed Hawkins, were joined by a host of special guests, including renowned organist, Anna Lapwood and award-winning British singer-songwriter & campaigner, Emeli Sandé, at a fabulous awareness and fundraising gala to launch the ‘Style Your Stripes’ campaign ahead of COP26 last Tuesday ( at St James’s Church, Piccadilly.

The spectacular sustainable gala saw VIP guests taking to the red (and blue) carpet in bespoke ‘climate stripe’ couture gowns. COP26 summit is to raise awareness and put the world on a path to cut greenhouse gas emissions and slow Earth’s warming. This is a critical moment for Climate Change activists all over the world as the world leaders gather in Scotland to discuss what the future of our world will be and how and what changes need to be made.

The ‘Style your Stripes’ campaign challenges people to demonstrate their commitment to tackling climate change by wearing the ‘climate stripes’: a unique visual produced by Professor Ed Hawkins from the University of Reading, designed to start conversations about the urgency of global warming.

We then had the honour to watch a chilling performance by Emelie Sandé, who sang “Look What You Have Done” from the perspective of Mother Nature to acknowledge the suffering we have caused to the planet and what we need to urgently address. A monumental moment that made us all think about the reality of Climate Change and how much humans have impacted this planet we live on.

Wearing the climate stripes is a powerful way to express your commitment to fight for our planet. We want to reach out to world leaders in the run up to COP26, with a clear message that can be seen as well as heard.
