A couple of weeks ago, I headed down to The Breakfast Club in Hoxton and it was definitely a visit to remember. Everyone loves breakfast so why not stroll down to the mere place that serves our favourite brunch dishes all day long!
The Breakfast Club serves our favourite comfort dishes in a unique, industrially decorated caf, in the midst of the urban districts of Shoreditch and Hoxton. They take pride in serving our favourite comfort food and being a ‘regular’ cafe but that is beside the point- They also make it their goal to help benefit the local communities which is a principle that more businesses need to take up.
Residing on a side road off the infamous Old Street, the eatery has vibes of a stereotypical cafe but with a modern twist. As soon as I walked in, I was welcomed by the amiable staff that were ready to accommodate me.
Looking at the menu, there were plenty of different dishes- From our savoury favourites to much sweeter options. They had classic dishes like English breakfast and appetizing French toast to more atypical plates like their ‘Disco Hash’ and their ‘Club Burrito’-There was plenty to choose from and I was definitely spoiled for choice.
If you are looking to try more unconventional breakfast foods, then the Breakfast Club would definitely be the place to visit.
Despite the range of unique dishes, I decided to go for their ‘Veggie All American’ that includes fluffy American pancakes, vegan streaky bacon, vegan sausage, fried potatoes, poached eggs and a ramekin full of maple syrup. Typically, you would get fried eggs with the dish but I decided to switch them out for some velvety poached eggs that are more my style.
homestyle potatoes, rich yolk fried eggs & maple syrup
Alongside my dish, I had one of their “Green is Good” smoothies that was a blend of apple, kale, kiwi, peach, broccoli, spinach and mint- A great source of vitamin B to go along with the delicious but fatty, veggie American breakfast.
My experience at the Breakfast Club was brilliant. From the friendly staff to the amazing dishes, which were definitely the ideal way to fuel the rest of my day, I would definitely come back again to visit. The menu was fulfilling and had loads of our all-time favourite dishes to some more unconventional options. They also have some amazing vegan and vegetarian
Not only that but the atmosphere created at the cafe was placid and super comfortable- Perfect for catching up with friends or getting away from the hustle and bustle of the busy streets of Shoreditch.
If you are looking for a relaxed spot to grab a bite to eat around London, The Breakfast Club has various locations dotted around the city- In places like Spitalfields, Soho and Hackney Wick. They also have a couple of locations out of London too!
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Breakfast Club branch in Shoreditch and will definitely be back again soon!
