The cold weather can cause your skin to become dry and sensitive, more than usual. Having sensitive skin can mean you are often left trying out products that just irritate your skin more, rather than helping soothe it. Especially in winter, it is important to find the right skincare for you, that will not cause distress for you or your skin. I am here to help you once again, finding my favourite skincare products for sensitive skin and on this occasion, my team and I got to try a new brand specialised in sensitive and eczema-prone skins (The Beauty of Eczema) but also a new hydrating skin tonic by Holy Grail (AHA Skin Tonic). I also included one of my go-to independent natural brands called Ndulge.
The Beauty of Eczema
This brand offers Vegan-friendly skincare products specifically made for people with sensitive skin and eczema. The new range of products by The Beauty of Eczema has been created for all skin types, even the most sensitive, which means it is even suitable for babies. The range includes no animal by-products or ingredients, it carries the PETA seal of approval and has been created to offer natural and vegan-friendly pampering for all skin types. It has been dermatologically tested for even the most sensitive skin.
The Beauty of Eczema Calming Cream
Available in 100ml (£12) or 200ml (£20) this luxurious face and body daily moisturiser is packed with natural moisturising ingredients, formulated to protect your skin and keep it hydrated. This has now become my daily face cream, it leaves your skin feeling very soft, non-greasy and actually soothe any irritation your may have.
The Beauty of Eczema Pamper Me Bathing Oil (200ml) – £22
Perfect for your evening bathing ritual, the nourishing bathing oil is created with natural ingredients to soothe and protect your skin. A treat for your mind, body and soul after a long day. Currently using it daily and although it does not foam whilst mixed with water, it makes your skin feel moisturised and very smooth. I have very dry skin and I have noticed a huge difference on my legs and arms which usually are my most sensitive area beside my face.
Holy Grail AHA Skin Tonic (150ml) – £21
The hydrating acid toner helps to exfoliate the surface of your skin. Infused with botanical extracts, this gentle 5% glycolic acid solution, lightens dark spots, refines pores and improves the overall appearance of the skin. The combination of AHA, rosemary leaf extract and a natural form of salicylic acid derived from willow bark extract loosens dead skin cells, unclogs pores and minimises the appearance of blemishes. This tonic is very gentle on your skin so you can use it daily without irritation and as for the smell, it is fresh and citrusy. (Checking on the label, it also contains orange oil extracts).
Avene Micellar Lotion (400ml) – £16.50
Make-up wipes can be very harsh on your skin, that is why you should use something more gentle, like micellar lotion to remove make-up. Rich in Avène Thermal Spring Water, this micellar lotion gently cleanses and removes make-up whilst protecting the skin’s natural barrier. It is specially formulated for all types of sensitive skin, for your face, eyes and lips. It leaves the skin feeling clean and soft and is paraben-free.
Burt’s Bees Sensitive Eye Cream – £16.49
An eye cream can be an important step in your daily skincare routine, especially in the colder weather. The skin around your eyes can become extremely sensitive and it is important to use a product that is gentle. The lightweight, hypoallergenic eye cream from Burt’s Bees is infused with softening cotton extract and soothing aloe. It naturally hydrates the delicate eye area, reviving tired eyes without causing irritation.
Ameliorate Intensive Lip Treatment 15ml – £15
The winter weather can really cause your lips to become drier and chapped more easily, sometimes a regular lip balm can not fix it. An intensive lip treatment progressively hydrates, refines and improves lip texture, providing instant comfort and long-term relief to very dry lips.
Drunk Elephant Juju Bar (120g) – £24
This 3-in-1 bar gently exfoliates, deeply cleanses and detoxifies without drying or stripping your skin of its protective barrier, which can usually be hard to find if you have sensitive skin.
Enriched with thermal mud, bamboo powder and marula oil, the bar is designed to effectively cleanse while gently removing dead skin cells from the surface of your skin.
Ndulge Goat Milk Body Créme (200g) – £22.95
This daily moisturising créme is uniquely formulated specifically for sensitive and extremely dry skin, it is great for eczema and psoriasis. It includes a rich, luxurious blend of naturally active ingredients to replenish and give the skin a glow, made from a cruelty-free goats milk farm and blended with all pure plant-based oils. Goat’s milk is a natural emollient that helps soothe and moisturize the skin.
Garnier Ultimate Blends Delicate Oat Milk Shampoo for Sensitive Scalp (360ml) – £3.99
Looking after your sensitive scalp is just as important as looking after your sensitive skin. Some shampoos can cause irritation to your scalp, this shampoo by Garnier is blended with oat milk and rice cream for naturally beautiful hair.
