Last week I was lucky enough to visit Paul Costelloe’s presentation “Golden Reflections” for Spring Summer at London Fashion Week, where a spirit of optimism and new beginnings set the scene for Costelloe’s latest collection. Costelloe is one of my favourite designers so I had high expectations but I was amazed by the show and how much of a breath of fresh air it was to see such optimism in a time of unease and anxiety. The presentation encourages you to embrace a new perspective and look at the positive possibilities the future holds.
Of course the presentation adhered to current covid guidelines so face coverings were required, guests had to social distance from each other as well as the models who were modelling some of the garments.
Already known for his hand-crafted and luxurious fabrics combined with cutting edge design, innovation and creativity, Costelloe is a leader in British and Irish fashion. He works with renowned technicians, suppliers and manufacturers to deliver collections of the highest quality, texture and comfort and this collection was certainly no different.
Iconic Costelloe tailored jackets were presented in soft Irish and Italian printed linens, paired with slouch trainers and hooded layers. Soft, silk dresses were layered with short, cropped jackets. I was also introduced to the metallic backpacks and that just lists a few of the highlight pieces that stood out to me.
The colours throughout were all warm and natural, with soft creams, burnt umbers and Mediterranean blues with soft, delicate daffodils prints, taupe strips and indigo ferns that created an ideal summer adventure – perfectly suited to this SS collection.
Whilst I was walking through the presentation it was hard to choose, from such an extensive collection of beautiful pieces, what my absolute favourite picks of the collection would be but these images showcase some of my personal favourites for this Spring:

Amongst the presentation were some of Paul Costelloe’s original sketches that guests were able to choose between and take to Paul as they met him, that he would sign. When I got the chance to meet Paul himself he kindly drew me an original sketch, that you can see below, that was personalised to me with my name and favourite colour!
It was great being able to meet Paul Costelloe in person and to discover his latest collection, even through these unprecedented times, where people have been questioning how London Fashion Week would go ahead this year. Despite the challenges, this was such an amazing and well orchestrated showcase, with an even more beautiful timeless pieces, and definitely my favourite from fashion moment this year.
